Safety/Quality Improvement Measures Nursing Actions Assessment of patient’s ability to self-administer his insulin The patient should be educated on the importance of proper medication administration and management. Red needs some sort of accountability for his insulin. Assessment of patient’s ability to monitor blood glucose He needs to be educated on the need for regular checks of his blood glucose. Giving him a logbook to complete might help. Regularly checking in on him is probably necessary.
