For instance, research showed that unintentional emotional appeals such as music triggered customers in a liquor store who were seen to buy and consume more German wine when German tunes are being played and more Italian wine when Italian songs are being played in the stores. Consequently, such techniques were found to have a significant influence on their purchasing and consumption behaviors. It is imperative to note that, concealed messages and triggers such as color, music, or images in advertising can influence a customer’s buying behavior. There are countless instances of marketers using automatic triggers to achieve their competitive advantage. The technique of color psychology is used by many social media platforms to appeal to their customers.
