To support my argument, I will be using David Coates take on the subject in his article, “Negative Freedom or Positive Freedom: Time to Choose?” David Coates, a professor in the Department of Politics at Wake Forest University, analyzes the Affordable Care Act as both positive and negative freedoms. He explains that those who oppose the Act are the private corporations who people will stop buying their insurance from if the Obama administration fully initiates the Affordable Care Act. This causes a roadblock for the population who simply cannot afford health insurance while those who can are enjoying the freedom of knowing that they will be taken care of if anything were to happen to them.
