board with going in their own direction and making decisions for themselves, not decisions based on the higher classes.France used their money in poor, foolish ways, spending most of their own money and money they borrowed on war supplies, leaving them to pay back substantial amounts that provedto be a struggle. This is another cause of the French Revolution because it was a time where everybody in France was in a state of sorrow due to the environment, the money being spent, andthe irresponsible King who would rather benefit himself and not the citizens of France. For example, “This empire and the wars, which acquiring such expansive territory required, however, came with an enormous bill. When Louis XIV died in 1715, he left the French state wracked with massive debt. France's subsequent rulers, Louis XV and Louis XVI, not only had to contend with this state debt, but were forced to spend much of the 18th century maintaining anenormous standing military trying unsuccessfully to hang on to many of these possessions.” (Study.com) With the King of France being so irresponsible and untrustworthy, he would put France in more debt and continue to live lavishly with his wife. As this continued, he realized that he was in more of an issue than he expected to be in, to try and fix this issue, he imposed taxes on the second estate. The second estate refused to pay taxes and since the King was weak, he could not force them to, putting France in a difficult position. (Schultz)The French Revolution was one of the best movements that had occurred in history due to the major impacts that it had changed in the French Society. Social inequalities played a large role in France falling apart, as many things were not fair to everyone. With 97% of the
population not being able to have a voice, it made things very different and were definitely more aimed toward the two upper classes, which eventually led people to go toward enlightenment.
