This can bring about even suicidal thoughts, substance abuse, illness and loss of interest in activities. (Saxon, 2009) School, social workers, friends, family, professional counselors and colleagues for the possible group responding to significant life event especially bereavement. Family gives biggest support the individual person for making them to gain courage and being steady in such a situation. (Saxon, 2009). The main was of doing this is by way of spending time together with the bereaved. It is worth to note that it is essential to allow people enough time to grieve. (Royal College of Psychiatrists, 2012) A family becomes the most gainful group in responding SLE since they are all mourning and therefore sharing the grief. This reduces the tension and stress between the affected individuals. However, a family may also not be so active because since they are mourning, they are not in an excellent position to give an alternative way of living. In such circumstances, friends tend to be more resourceful. Friends may help individual mourning by coming up with a different approach family couldn’t provide. (Telford and Wrekin, 2010).

The local community provides vital support to the member undergoing SLE. They do so by undertaking some practical and critical activities like doing shopping, cooking, sharing encouraging stories, cleaning among other activities. Spiritual support is equally essential if the bereaved or the person undergoing the SLE process subscribe to any faith. This strengthens an individual and gives him or her more hopes. Employers, working colleagues, and human resource managers play a vital role in SLE and especially bereavement. The employer with the help of the human resource manager organizes that the employee has sufficient conditions to grief. (Royal College of Psychiatrists, 2012). Victims must be encouraged and supported through open conversations with their co-workers and their leaders; the importance of open communication in an organization cannot be ruledout. (Hall et al, 2013) Sue and Tom lived far from their families, and therefore, they get limited, or no support from the family members thought the grief period.
