The concept of culture is closely related to society or environment and is considered as a central theme. The experience can give value to human expressions, interactions, interpretations and cultural setting (Dupree, 2017). Concept of Nursing Involves wanting the highest health outcomes for patients. Values service and patient well-being. The nurse should assist and support the patient alongside their cultural values and beliefs to improve care.

NURSING METAPARADIGM BY CUSTIS AND BOYD-LIBURD Concept of Health Patient perspective is imperative with this concept. Perception of what is healthy and what is not may be different. This concept aims to improve health for a patient (physical, mental, psychological, emotional and spiritual). Accessibility to improving healthcare is reinforced in this concept. Health is a state of mind that is developed from a patient perspective/experiences in life (cultures ad values).

ADDITIONAL CONCEPTS BY CUSTIS Care is when a person assist in the needs of others in order to improve a person’s condition. Caring is when a person provide care to improve a person health or well-being ( Ansuya, 2012) Worldview is a personal view of the world (your personal perspective of the way you view the world according to your own culture, values, beliefs, and views)

THEORITICAL ASSUMPTIONS BY CARVAJAL Care is essential for human growth, well-being (Leininger, 1988) Different Cultures perceive care differently because there are diverse and universal forms of expressions, patterns and process of human care that exist transculturally (Leininger,1988) Knowledge of meanings and practices derived from world versus social structure factors, cultural values, environmental context and language uses are essential to guide nursing decisions (Leininger, 1988) Culturally related care is shaped by environmental surroundings(Leininger, 1988) Culture have people and professional care values, beliefs and practices (Leininger,1988) Care is culturally congruent when cultural values are used appropriately (Leininger, 1988) If care is not consistent, the client will demonstrate cultural conflict (Leininger, 1988)

ANALYSIS AND CRITIQUE By Greenhoward Leininger’s transcultural nursing theory place emphases on knowledge of culture care and can be applied and utilized in the nursing profession across all specialties. For the model to be successfully used, the care provider must be aware of the patient’s beliefs, understand cultural request and use all appropriately to provide cultural congruent care.
