Values and philosophy are provided on the corporate website along with videos from the CEO. view but are mentioned under the corporate website listed under a different name. This could make it difficult for patients to find the information. Advisors Patient/Family participating in quality and safety rounding is suggested. It is recommended that family is present for physicians rounding. Patients and families do not currently serve on any advisory councils or hospital committees. Quality Improvement Management and quality improvement managers perform daily rounding to directly speak with random patients about how their experience has been at BSA. They address any issues as well. Patients and families do not have a voice in strategic/operational aims and goals, are not active participants on task forces or QI teams. They do not participate in quality, safety, risk, IHI, or NPSF meetings. Personnel Physicians, nurses, and other employees are trained to involve patients and their family in the plan of care. While there is a general knowledge that this should be done, it is not done consistently. Also, this hospital does not have patients or family members on interview teams, search committees, or new staff orientation. They do not collaborate with patients or families regarding job descriptions, and policies in performance appraisal processes. Environment & Design The environment supports patient and family presence and participation as well as interdisciplinary Patients and families do not participate in the clinical design projects at this hospital.

Information/Education This hospital shows strength in information and education. Patient and families have access to web portals to provide specific resources for education and resource rooms. They can access portals for lab information and education after discharge as well. The patients and families do not have email access to physicians and do not serve as educators or faculty for clinicians and other staff members. Diversity & Disparities Patient and families are provided timely access to interpreter phones. There are many services that assist minority and underserved patients within this hospital.
