Privacy advocacy groups such as Privacy Rights Clearinghouse believe that the information being collected only enhances the consumer’s vulnerability to identity theft and having incorrect data profiles. A bid problem with consolidating information from a variety of sources is errors and omissions in the data. These mistakes in missing information in someone’s profiles create opportunity for misunderstandings between the party using the information and that individual that is portrayed. Another potential harm in collecting this information is that if it gets into the hands of the wrong people it can be detrimental not only to our finances but also the people’s reputations. Balancing the positives and negatives of data collecting is key in order to ensure the information is not being released to the wrong people and being used to help instead of hurt society. Some would argue that personal data collection is necessary for business to succeed today. Others would argue that personal data collection is an invasion of individual privacy. Take one of these positions and defend it. I agree that personal data collecting is an invasion of people’s privacy. The information that is obtained is personal information that is not willingly being given to these companies. They are

The easy accessibility hackers have to obtain this information poses too much of a threat to consumers.
