It ranks as 83least corrupted nation from 175 countries all over the world. This may be a drawback forPadini to enter but worry not as Padini itself has a zero corruption record so far due to itsanti-corruption policy and Malaysia’s “losing -face” culture. Padini’s anti-corruption policycovers the law and regulation to prevent corruption and punish the corruptor such as legalsuits and suspension from the company. “Losing-face” culture has been rooting in everyAsian tradition. It has been known that Asian tends to do things carefully to avoidembarrassment and society’s judgement. So Malaysian will need to think twice before doingcorruption as the corruptor will be marked as a bad person. This will lead to career failure asnews is rapidly spread to outsiders such as business associates, partners and companies. Thesame goes to Sri Lankan, Padini will convict any corruptor heavily to improve an anti-corruption environment. Hence, Padini seeks Sri Lanka’s government supervision as well inevery activity they do to prevent corruption from happening. Sri Lanka has Bribery Act 1954to prevent and solve corruption activity which will be fully-supported by Padini to create afree-corruption environment. Furthermore, Padini has been doing charity program to increaseCSR instead of profit being transferred to unauthorized individual.7.2.Human rights issue Human rights issue has been a concerning issue for years in Sri Lanka. With the highamount of attack, killing, kidnap, rape and terrorism cases, Sri Lanka is considered as one ofleast safe countries in the world. Thus, government has created particular Acts to preventhuman right abuse and protect its citizen. Those Acts include Factories Regulations (minor tomajor injuries), Hazardous Occupation Regulations, Medical Ordinance and Human RightsCommission of Sri Lanka Act 1996. Not forgetting, Padini has done well in enforcingemployee safety all these times by prioritizing employees’ safety with providing safetyequipment and insurance. Padini will always strive for employee’s human rights equalityeven without government’s regulation to maintain and improve their work performance andemotional stability.
