those that agree and have the same worldview as you. Servant and Democratic Leadership Application According to Jeff Belsky he stated that “ Servant leadership may be the best model for health care organizations because it focuses on the strength of the team, developing trust and serving the needs of patients” (Belsky, J.). Servant leadership is the best to apply in a health care setting because the industry is already all about patient care and advocating for the patients. Servant leaders show concern for others and put the needs of all and interest first. This will help me as an APRN be able to delegate more accordingly and allow to grow relationships with all the interdisciplinary team. “ As servant leaders, health care employees may be best equipped to make changes in the organization and in the provider-patient relationship to improve the value of care for patients” (Belsky, J.). 3

LEADERSHIP STYLE REFLECTIVE ESSAY Utilizing democratic leadership will allow me as an APRN be able to include all the other interdisciplinary teams in the decision-making process during procedural changes. I will be able to collect all the ideas and opinions of the staff and implement them in practical ways that will improve the quality of care for the patients. The best part about applying this in leadership is that not one person is in charge of a certain part of the organization, but everyone has an equal and open opportunity to express their needs and concerns ( 5 Leadership Styles for Clinical Nurse Leaders).
