students as I can around me yet the chance has never occurred to help others in my community. The requirement of ten hours of community service does not seem like a burden to me as it would for many others, in fact, I am looking forward to going out into my city to meet new people and try to help as best as I can. In the past, I have helped tutor some classmates in my French class since I understood the lessons easier than them. I tried to push them to memorize songs and read books because that was what helped me learn. The requirement of live tutoring is similar, so I look forward to that as well. Online school is a very big difference from normal school. In regular school, everything is given to you and you have to do it by a given date, if not you are scolded and your grade may decrease as well. In online school, it is similar although if an assignment is not turned in by the given time you are not scolded (except for a red box that is always present until it is done) and your grade is not interfered with at all. This is a very big difference, last year I started to take advantage of this as I am sure many others have as well. Yet, I soon realized that I have never done that before so I should not start now. This helped me become more responsible, and think about the consequences of my actions. I also had to become responsible about when I would wake up and if I would sleep in just because I could. In addition, I had to stay on pace and try to avoid being behind in any of my classes. Online school has grown that in me and I have a feeling that the National Honor Society will help accelerate that growth. Joining the National Honor Society would be a great achievement for me, it could help me bring my love and passion for reading to others. I could also help those in need and try to make their days better while giving back. Finally, it would help me explore and expand my individuality and embrace more responsibility. Because of my abilities and experiences as a student, I would like to think that I am a strong candidate, and I hope I have demonstrated the character, leadership, scholarship, and service qualities necessary to join the society. I hope to be considered for placement in this prestigious society.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
