team by focusing on interpersonal relationships and efficiency of the change by looking at the
mutual goals of each other’s interests. The goal is to grow and develop all members of the team
and make positive decisions by challenging and motivating throughout the process therefore is
the type of leadership style best for the implementation of patients/families into hospital
committees.
Being energetic, passionate about one’s work, and inspired to make positive changes
within the organization, helps lean toward this leadership style because of the vision of making
the facility more patient-family-centered. This overall vision will help build relationships with
cultural diverse patients/families and help with recruitment of staff with the same passion,
interests and views to implement the change of having patients/families on hospital committees
to improve satisfaction and improved outcomes. To make this change successful, it is important
that all members of the committee understand the goals and vision for a patient-family-centered
care facility. A transformational leader allows for decisions to be shared amongst the team by
encouraging other team members to work together and by providing leadership while steering
focus to meet the proposed goal. This will enhance the ability of the team to agree on methods,
policies, and plans to achieve the end goal.
