4. Why is this goal an important one ? Think both locally and globally. This goal is important because it helps Purdue to reduce energy costs, and globally it helps the environment by creating a structure that is run on renewable energy. 5. List at least three possible stakeholders and users who could be impacted by your solution. 1) Students living in apartments 2) Neighbors surrounding the building 3) Workers constructing the building 6. What are two competing needs of the stakeholders or users you have identified? Two competing needs of the stakeholders include designing a building which is both cost effective but also highly energy efficient, with the goal of producing a net negative energy consumption or a net zero energy consumption. In addition, aesthetic appeal is an important factor as the future occupants will hold such a characteristic in high regard. 7. What are the design criteria with the Net Zero Energy design challenge? Cost, energy efficiency and desirability. 8. What are the design constraints associated with the Net Zero Energy design challenge? The design constraints are to create a model for a dorm at a price of at most $600,000.00, this dorm needs to be highly desirable in that students would want to live in the dorm and lastly the dorm must be highly energy efficient.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
