Tomlinson 3 humanness that he brings to her, and I feel better able to equate it to myself and my own relationship, because of it. The last two lines are by far my favorite, and add the weight in the poem for me, as for the most part I felt the sonnet was fun and light-hearted. When he says “And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare As any she belied with false compare.” he is offering the depth of his emotion, and his assurance that he has not portrayed her falsely, and that his love for her may be that, perhaps in a lifetime, if we’re lucky, romantic ideal of love. He does not need to compare her to anyone else’s ideals or ideas of perfection, for he has truly found, with eyes wide open, a rare and wondrous love to celebrate.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
