semi-regularly outside of the office (including outside of work-related social gatherings).” • “An extremely friendly office. The firm as a whole is full of people willing to take time out of their day to help you. For a firm that hires the best from the best law schools, I was worried about coming from a lower-ranked tier one school. I have never felt looked down upon or had my abilities questioned. I was welcomed and integrated with the firm immediately. And weekly happy hours on Friday are a highlight. Partners really do come and share a drink with the associates.” • “Wilmer is first rate and very professional. I wish the DC office was a little more open and friendly. Everyone is nice, but it can be challenging to make deeper relationships. While there are monthly socials, they tend to be primarily attended by support staff.” Associate/Partner Relations • “The firm has an annual state of the firm address, and my department has a presentation every year looking back at our numbers for the prior year and discussing goals for this year. The partners treat the associates with respect—I really enjoy working one-on-one with the partners.” • “Partners and associates commonly interact professionally and even socially. Partners are very respectful and encouraging, helpful and cordial. And the firm has grown more transparent over time. In the most recent bonus letter, the firm specified that it had awarded bonuses for working extra hours, but that it did not mean to encourage higher hours—merely to recognize it. I thought that was a very positive sign.” • “Treatment of associates by individual partners depends on the individual partner. A few partners I have worked with really invested in me as a young associate, whereas others seemed to care less about that aspect. The firm seems generally transparent, although there are certainly some things that I feel I am not privy to as a younger associate.” • “With only one or two exceptions, I love the partners I work for—they are generally very fair about assigning work, and when they assign something arduous or time-sensitive, they are (1) clear about the reason why it is time-sensitive beforehand and (2) vocally appreciative and apologetic once the work is done.” Hours • “I feel as though my workload is very manageable. As expected when working for a major law firm, there are some

However, I do not think it is at all difficult to manage or overwhelming, and overall the quality of life is very good. Work is evenly distributed to the best of the firm’s ability, but of course, the nature of the work requires that occasionally things cannot be dispersed perfectly amongst those qualified to do the tasks.” • “I work a lot—which is normal for for BigLaw—but it can be exhausting. The nice thing is that I don’t feel like I’m being forced to put in hours to meet an hours target. Rather, it is

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
