In order to make improvements towards my weakness, lacking confidence to make decisions, there are multiple things I can do. Before diving in, it is important to recognize my flaws, and why and how it is affecting me. My flaw is my lack of confidence to make decision. This is a flaw because I am afraid of taking risks and it holds me back from obtaining leadership
Chen 7 skills. Now that I am aware of my flaws, and why and how it is affecting me, I can commit to taking steps to improve on the weakness. Using the SMART goal-setting model, my steps to improvement will be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Reinforcing (or Relevant) and Rewarding, and Time Deadline. The overall goal I am trying to develop is leadership skills through decision making. Specifically, gain confidence in myself because in order to obtain leadership skills, it is important that I believe in myself even when no one else does. In other to do this, I will start where I feel most comfortable, my dining choices. I will attempt to try at least ten new restaurants in New York the remaining of November and order something new from each restaurant. This task may seem silly to some, but it will allow me to work on making decisions and furthermore, gain confidence in myself.
