In 1992, there was a rap group that no one liked because they were too pretty and was selling out making radio friendly music o They looked like they didn’t belong in hip hop o Group was called PM Dawn KRS-One responded  o PM Dawn was being interviewed and said that KRS-One was “the teacher of what?”, and said that he wasn’t credible o KRS-One heard that they dissed him and didn’t do anything immediately One day at a PM Dawn concert, BDP climbed up on the stage of their show and threw PM Dawn off of the stage KRS-One called it a triumph for hip-hop KRS-One is being promoted as a peace master, yet did this…? o His audience was upset with his actions o He later apologized o In 1993 he dissolved the BDP name officially o He reinvented himself as KRS-One o He did that partly to reclaim royalties from the first album If you change your name and release the same music you gain your royalties back SONG: Step Into A World (Rapture’s Delight) o From “I Got Next” LP Doug E. Fresh & The Get Fresh Crew Symbolic because of only two songs Doug E. Doug E. was also one of the best and most well-known human beat-boxers o First in the hip-hop world o Sampled hip-hop classics o Best of all time Song in 1983 called Pass The Buddha In 1984 he was first seen in the movie Beat Street during his cameo appearance o When fans saw him for the first time he got to play himself in the film o Breakdancing and rapping were the themes of the movie 1985 he was one of the biggest names in rap o In this era they were struggling to find rappers that can keep up with the game and be played on the radio Teddy Riley was supposed to produce this song, but the crew took over and finished the production themselves Album called Oh My God o First LP in 1987  failed to be successful SONG: The Show o Samples inspector gadget Slick Rick/Ricky D was from England Song got a lot of radio airplay SONG: La-Di-Da-Di Second album for Doug E. Fresh came out in 1988 called “The Greatest Entertainer” o He is a great performer and his concerts were great Slick Rick broke from the pack after this album was released and would go on in the same year to release his own album called The Great Adventures Of Slick Rick – o Did better than the Doug E. Fresh album They reunited in 1995 to record together again Doug E. Fresh never gained his momentum back after Slick Rick left o He ended up working with MC Hammer for a bit Slick Rick Slick rick wears an eye-patch and gold chains  became his trademark o The eye-patch was there because he was blinded by broken glass as a kid Real name is Ricky Walters o Wore the eye-patch since he was a kid o Met Doug E. in a battle when they were younger Born in January 1969 in London to Jamaican parents
