This section describes the financial ramifications related to a strategic plan.A Plan for Monitoring the Progress of a Strategic PlanFor a strategic plan to be effective and successful it is important to monitor the progress. Monitoring the progress allows for many things to happen such as changes in short-term and long-term objectives. When myself or other employees begin actively executing our strategic plan changes may occur. This can be particularly due to when a SWOT analysis was conducted on myself or others did not realize the lack of communication obtained. This could have been a short-term objective but now is a long-term objective. Overtime state, federal, and local laws change as well. This requires positions to acquire more skills to be qualified for that position. I might already have my strategic plan written out but I would have to make changes to ensure I successfully comply with standards. Checking the progress of a strategic plan allows for myself and others to “make adjustments to your strategy so that you can maximize what is working and address any areas of weakness”. (Sedmak, J) It is important for me to regularly maintain my strategic plan to make effective changes such as these. It is also necessary for me to ensure effective development is being demonstrated. Myself or others can take a training or be taught byanother employee. I can also read a book and demonstrate the skill. This does not mean I have retained the information or fully comprehended the skill. It is important for my piers and leadership to mentor or coach me to ensure I am effectively developing. Providing guidance in the right direction means myself and others will be successful in the future. This also allows me to ask questions if myself or others are unsure. This allows me to confidently demonstrate the skills I have learned. It is also important to check the progress to ensure objectives are
STRATEGIC ACTION PLAN10successfully being demonstrated. Too often myself and others loose sign of our strategic plans and focus on something else. Many times, myself or others need motivation to get back on track with development. Myself and others can get caught up focusing on work instead of further developing one another. Even though the title of the goal is short-term goals it can seam like a long-term goal. Motivation and support help myself and others keep on track in struggling times.Checking in on myself and others who are further developing ensures we see the light at the end of the tunnel. Motivation can ensure myself and other are “tracking whether team members complete action steps on time, and by considering course corrections”. (Minnesota Department of Health) This allows us to fully develop and achieve our short-term and long-term goal. This section describes the plan for monitoring the progress of a strategic plan.
