She flees to join the Christians. Okonkwo beats Nwoye for visiting the Christians. Nwoye flees and never returns. The Christians are rescuing the twins that have been thrown in the forest. The Ibos are satisfied that the twins are never brought into the village. Three missionaries boast that the Ibo gods are dead. The Ibo tribe seizes the men and beat them. The Christians admit outcasts into their group. The Ibo are not concerned‚ because they do not want the outcasts anyway. An outcast kills the sacred, holy python. The Ibos feel that their gods will take care of those who kill the python. The man eventually dies. The Christians are overtaking the Ibo culture. The Ibos’ only retaliation is to ostracize those who are part of the Christians and ban them from participating in Ibo daily life.
