Because 11% of the land is suitable for cultivation, there are many local and profitable crops. For instance, some of the major resources are rice, sugar, vegetables, tea, fruit, and fish. Besides natural resources, Japan is also a major supplier of machinery. This includes automobiles, televisions, electronic equipment, electronics in general, and metals. America is one of the many countries that thrives off of Japan’s exports. Another way that the Japanese define success is through one’s level and attainment of education. According to CultureGrams, Japanese children start schooling from the age of six and are socially expected to complete school by graduating university. Overall, the Japanese go to school for approximately 13 years (CultureGrams). School in Japan is fairly accessible, as schooling is free from ages six to fifteen. After the age of fifteen, students have to start paying for their tuition.
