3has been accepted by society as the norm, making it more and more difficult to elicit change. Religion is used as a tool to prohibit woman from any sort of political rights in India. This is a valuable source for my research proposal as it will shed light into the discrimination Hindu and Muslim women face as a result of outdated religious practices,“Hindu women were governed by the tenets of their religion, which restricted their rights regarding inheritance, possession of property, and divorce, among others.” (Krishna andSai). This source offers perspectives from both the Hindu faith as well as the Muslim, this will add a comprehensive view on how these two religions impact the bride burning culture.Statement of Research Plan and TimetableTo carry out my research proposal I will be relying on peer reviewed journal articles, as well as scholarly books and different Encyclopedias. I will be collecting my research through the Douglas College library, searching through catalogues, databases,and google scholar. I will be conducting my research in the citation style of MLA. I have set the schedule for the phases of my proposal in the following format: Information gathering: Oct 15, 2018. Analysis: Oct 22, 2018. First draft: Oct 25, 2018. Peer editing: November 10, 2018. Final draft: December 12, 2018.
