Tea Act – the East India company is in debt, so it receives a monopoly of the tea trade to the colonies, and the colonists are like no. we will not buy this tea. This tea sits in Boston harbor for weeks. 32. Boston Tea Party – Sam Adams and his Sons of Liberty go onto the boats in the Boston Port and throw out all that tea. They’re dressed like Indians, but I doubt that’s important at ALL. 33. Coercive Acts – in response to the Boston tea Party. Boston port act closes the boston port. Administration of justice act takes british officials who have committed crimes and puts them on trial in GB. MA governor act takes away any governor in MA. Quebec Act extends Canadian border to Ohio Rivers and gives Catholics protection, and colonists are PO’d. 34. First Continental Congress – meet in PA, Sam adams john adams Patrick henry and john jay, john Dickinson and GW are there. They create the declaration of rights and grievances (John Adams) and they basically say that they’re entitled to “life, liberty, and property”, and Parliament can’t levy taxes so fuck off.
