However, success will be a reality for all who commit to practice . I am positive that you will see great achievements in this course in proportion to the time that you are able to invest in this class. Course Objectives and Learning Outcomes Students who successfully complete this course will have obtained an understanding of the following Managerial Accounting concepts: checkbld Describe the role of Managerial Accounting in business (planning, organization, control, decision-making, and efficiency). checkbld Explain the role of ethics in accounting. checkbld Identify and explain fundamental cost concepts. checkbld Discern the difference in service, merchandising, and manufacturing accounting systems. checkbld Utilize Cost-volume-profit analysis, and capital budgeting techniques to evaluate prospective projects. checkbld Prepare budgets and explain their use in planning. checkbld Utilize standard costing techniques to evaluate business performance (budgetary control and cost variance). checkbld Explain continuous improvement concepts and cost system design techniques. checkbld Compile, analyze and interpret financial statements, selecting only that information which is useful to management.

Professor Course Packet Materials (available only at the Brandon Campus Bookstore) Optional purchase , however HIGHLY RECOMMENDED – All materials in course packet are also available online to read and print 4. All selected Textbook Homework Assignments - Chapters Chapters 16, and 18 – 26, which are completed completed in the CengageNOW Homework System which is accessed via the Canvas link in your weekly assignments module . 2. Online Quizzes that review the Chapter Lectures, which are assigned and completed in Canvas . 3. Chapter Tests for each Chapter covered in the course - Chapters 16, and 18 – 26, which are assigned and completed in Canvas . 4. Three Unit Exam Reviews, which are completed in the CengageNOW Homework System which is accessed via the Canvas link in your weekly assignments module .
