2. Utilizing your Exploring the Research in Summary Worksheets , you will develop a 3 (three) page literature review paper. 3. Your assigned group will work together on developing a Power Point Presentation. 4. Finally, your assigned group will present your research to the class. Part I: Exploring the Research in Summary Worksheets (50 points): You will use the UCF library databases to find 3 (three) peer reviewed journal articles on your assigned student success topic. Librarians can help you find articles. You will then independently complete the Exploring the Research in Summary Worksheet for each article. After you receive my feedback on your summaries, you will be ready to write the literature review paper. Part II: The Literature Review Paper (75 points): You will write a minimum 3 (three) page paper summarizing the research you have read on your student success topic. The paper should include: Introduction- Importance of the Topic 3 Main Themes or Major Points that Emerged from the Research- include details from at least one original study on each theme Summary- Review key findings and their importance Reference Page Part III: Power Point Slides (25 points) Using your Exploring the Research in Summary Worksheets as a guide, create Power Point Slides that can be used for the presentation. Be sure to create visually effective and informative slides that highlight the research on this topic. Include information on how the studies were conducted and the main findings (see Mayer’s multi-media principles in Chapter 4). You should include the following: Introduction- why the topic is important Themes and Research Studies o purpose of the studies o how the studies were conducted (who participated and what did they have to do) o the main findings or results of the study Conclusion- Value of this research and how college students can put this information into practice Part IV: Group Presentation (50 points) Using your Power Point slides as a backdrop, share the research with the class. Practice effective presentation skills including emphasizing key points. It is significantly important to begin thinking about your career path early in your college journey. To make the most of your undergraduate education, the planning process should begin now. You may have a very clear career path in mind and this project will help you strengthen your pathway to that career goal (along the way you may even find a new career of interest). You may have multiple career interests and be undecided. This project will help you begin to lay the foundation to be a successful UCF Knight!
