FRAMEWORK APPLICATION 7 ones to develop better. Secondly, I would let her recognize the multiple realities that she has to come to terms with. For instance, she has a family which may end up breaking up if she continues to behave the way she does. Thirdly, I would work towards changing her perceptions and beliefs which may be affecting her. This will create a new feeling about herself as well as the environment in which she operates. Last, I would help her to reduce any form of anxiety and depression that she may be experiencing. Interventions and Techniques There are different techniques and interventions that can be applied on Margarita. The cognitive theory provides for the customization of techniques and interventions that can be applied in this case since the theory focuses on the person's behavior and the factors behind having such behavior. The violent nature of the client towards her husband has been going on, but the main cause of such violence has not been established. There is also a record of having attended counseling sessions which did not work. Family therapy is the main intervention technique that can be applied in her case since this form of therapy is supported by the cognitive theory (Dallos, 2015). The cognitive behavioral approach focuses on cognition, emotions, and behavior as they exert a mutual influence on one another within family relationships to cause dysfunction (Van, 2013). The jointly held perceptions about the family would play a critical role in ensuring that the client gets back to normal as her situation can be interpreted differently focusing on the family.
