8.5 years old to 21 years old. What variables (factors) are being looked at as an influence on personality? How are these factors assessed or measured in the article? Variables in the study are attachment, Extraversion( positive emotions), Agreeableness(compassionate), Conscientiousness(impulse control), Neuroticism(anger, anxiety, and sadness), and openness(complexity, depth, and quality of a persons life) at age 8.5 years old the participant took a separation anxiety test, their mother filled out a five factor model questionnaire along with their teacher. At 21 years the participants took a big five mini marker questionnaire, adult attachment interview, and had 1 to 3 peers answer a five-factor model questionnaire.
If these variables or the relationship between these variables have been studied before, what have other studies found? This shows historical significance. How does the view of personality in this article compare with historical views of personality ? Hagekull and Bohlin studied attachment in infancy that was related to the positiveness to extraversion and openness and negatively to neuroticisms in middle childhood if the infant had a secure attachment. Other wise there have been very little studies done to test the theory of attachment and the five factor models.
