EDUCATIONThe education page displays a Marine's education data from MCTFS to include service schools, MCI courses, MarineNet courses, off- duty education, and civilian education with marks. This data identifies the completion of professional military education as well as a commitment to personal and career development through life-long studies. All completion certificates and diplomas should be kept by the Marine as part of their personal administration. This will be the only way to verify attendance should an error occur at the point of data entry or in the future.OFFICIAL MILITARY PERSONNEL FILE (OMPF)The OMPF is a collection of documents that serve as the record of service for a Marine from initial enlistment through final separation. The OMPF is divided into folders and sub-folders, each with a specific purpose. The OMPF is used for promotion, selection, and assignment purposes. It is your responsibility to ensure your record is accurate and complete. The record should be reviewed annually; however, this is especially important prior to any promotion or selection board for which you are eligible. Your Marines must understand that their record is their personal representation.QUALITY ASSURANCE
As Marines, our actions are not driven by performance evaluations; however, documentation is the key to analyzing what we have done and what we need to do to improve. After a promotion board, we always hear about one Marine who has no idea why they didn't get selected. What if it was simply because their record was incomplete? Although there are administrative clerks available to enter data and assist in maintenance of records, quality assurance falls upon the individual Marine for their personal administration. As a leader, you must assist Marines in understanding this responsibility.Which document provides the commander a visual reference of previously reported conduct and proficiency markings, and the averages of those markings for the time-in-grade, enlistment, and service? -Record of Service (ROS)Question 1Which statement best describes the role of mentoring in career progression?Correct answer: A guide can help Marines transition into their new career by helping them avoid embarrassing conflicts and passing on information about unwritten rules.Question 2Which of the following lists the three tools for establishing a successful mentoring connection?Correct answer: Communication skills, personal assessment, and career development planQuestion 3When do you become the image of the organization to a person within the organization?Your answer (correct): Anytime you out-rank that personQuestion 4Which three goals should be aligned to establish how a Marine fits into the organization?Correct answer: Personal, professional, and organizationalQuestion 5Placing goals into the categories of critical, enabling, and nice to have will help ________.
