His main interests nowadays are coaching and consult- ing in requirements engineering and the modeling of business processes. He is actively involved in organizations that are ded- icated to the personalization of software engineering. Among other things, Rainer Grau is a member of the International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB), leader of the domain-specific group Computer Science of the Swiss Associa- tion for Quality SAQ, and lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences HSR Rapperswil. Colin Hood Colin Hood Systems Engineering Colin Hood has supported the evolution of control systems from relay-based systems via programmable logical controllers (PLCs) to modern software-driven systems since 1977. In a number of different professional areas, he was responsible for the analysis, design, implementation, test, and deployment of complex software systems. The application of requirements engineering has always been the one and only method that facilitated his success with companies such as Alcatel, BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Hella, and Miele. Along with process improvement, his specialties are the support of change pro- cesses during method and tool introduction. Dr. Frank Houdek Daimler AG Frank Houdek studied computer science at the University of Ulm. After his graduation, he transferred to Daimler’s Research Centre in Ulm. Since 1999, he has been active in the area of requirements engineering. He oversees different research and transfer projects with customers in the field of automotive control system development. Dr. Houdek is a member of the German Computer Science Society and IEEE- CS and active in the governing board of the domain-specific group 2.1.6 Requirements Engineering. In addition, he is involved in program and organization committees of pertinent events, among others RE’04 and the Automotive Requirements Engineering Workshops in Japan 2004.

xi Dr. Peter Hruschka Atlantic Systems Guild Peter Hruschka has been working as an independent IT and management consultant since 1994. His mission is the practi- cal implementation of new ideas in software engineering. This comprises the entire spectrum from analysis of the initial situa- tion via the creation of strategic plans to introductory training for every (structured or object-oriented) method and process to guarantee success. Dr. Hruschka is principal of the Atlantic Systems Guild, an internationally renowned group of experts on software technology, and founder of the German network of agile developers.
