لانروج5Part 1Intrinsic Versus Extrinsic Motivation“Extrinsic motivation refers to behavior that is driven by external rewards such as money, fame, grades, and praise. This type of motivation arises from outside the individual, as opposed to intrinsic motivation, which originates inside of the individual” (Cherry, 2020, Para. 1). Extrinsic motivators are a useful toolbecause they push people to complete an assignment that was at work or school. As for me, I alwaysdreamed of getting a university degree, which is my external motivation, I am studying now, and I wantto get my degree and a good job with a good salary and achieve my goal: to be the manager of my ownbusiness.“Intrinsic motivation is when you engage in a behavior because you find it rewarding. You areperforming an activity for its own sake rather than from the desire for some external reward. Thebehavior itself is its own reward” (Cherry, 2020, Para. 2). As for the example when I was intrinsicallymotivated it was a year ago. It was a time when I felt depressed, pessimistic, and unwilling to doanything. However, one day I took a vacation and took some time to assess my life and see if I wasmoving forward towards my goals. Having these feelings, willpower and self-confidence helped me thechallenge to get through this period of my life and get stronger. This is what motivates me intrinsically.Intrinsic motivation applies to internal rewards-driven conduct. In other words, the desire to participatein conduct that occurs from inside the individual because it satisfies you naturally. This contrasts withextrinsic motivation, which includes engaging in actions to receive or escape retribution for externalrewards. Based on what I have learned about motivation, I can say that I might face many closed doorsduring my journey in life, and having the correct knowledge would be the key to these doors. And I wantto prove to myself that no matter what I am facing, I will always be able to do what I am dreaming. It is important to be both intrinsically and extrinsically motivated because both of them are important inlife. However, I can say that I am an intrinsically motivated learner because I have always believed thatI could reach my goal. If I was not intrinsically motivated I could not achieve anything in life.ReferencesCherry, K. (2020, Jan 15).Differences of Extrinsic and Intrinsic Motivation. VerywellMind.Cherry, K.
