Workplace bullying is on the rise. While statistics vary, some studies reveal that nearly
half of all American workers have been affected by workplace bullying, either as a target or as a
witness to abusive behavior against a co-worker. Bullying personalities are typically over-
ambitious, opportunistic, combative, powerful and competitive. Examples of workplace bulling
is Spreading malicious rumors, gossip, or innuendo, excluding or isolating someone socially,
intimidating a person, undermining or deliberately impeding a person's work [Bul161]. Some
solutions to workplace bullying is encouraging everyone at the workplace to act towards others
in a respectful and professional manner, have a workplace policy in place that includes a
reporting system, educating everyone that bullying is a serious matter, try working out a solution
before the situation gets serious or "out of control", educate everyone about what is considered
bullying, and whom they can go to for help [Wha16].
