All I heard was the phone ringing, Jill picking it up, then a minute later dropping it onto the ground. She said in a very shocked whisper, “Bill…” And then she started to sob. She sobbed so much that even the heavens started to cry with her. “John – John was…was in a car accident…and they said he’s…he’s dead,” she could barely speak. Then she added, “They said that we have to go and identify if that is our son.” We were at the hospital in a flash. There was a man, lying on the hospital bed, covered with a white sheet. The nurse lifted the sheet, and almost instantly Jill fell to the ground. Her heart couldn’t bear the fact that her son was no longer in this world. She was immediately taken to the emergency room. I looked at John and remembered that last words we had said to each other. His face was as pale as the moon, and as calm as a lake on a quiet summer evening. My one and only son stolen was stolen from me. What had he ever done to anyone for getting punished so severely? I was furious and grief-stricken at the same time. The nurse rushed in a few moments later to give me the news that Jill had joined my son. She had a very weak heart to begin with, and she wasn’t able to bear this shock. Anger was raging in my body, like a bouncy ball ricocheting off the walls in a racquetball court. Whoever committed this crime has not only stolen my wife and my only son from me, they have made worthless everything I ever worked for and they had made my life meaningless.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
