Suppose you could make use of only transient asynchronous communication primitives, including only an asynchronous receive primitive. How would you implement primitives for transient synchronous communication? Question 2 Suppose you could make use of only transient synchronous communication primitives. How would you implement primitives for transient asynchronous communication? Question 3 Explain why transient synchronous communication has inherent (geographical) scalability problems, and how these could be solved. Question 4 Use the program in Fig 4.3 to make a client program that repeatedly reads a line of input from the user, sends it to the server in a UDP datagram message, then receives a message from the server. The client sets a time- out on its socket so that it can inform the user when the server does not reply. Test this program with the server program in Fig 4.4. (Referring to Dollimore’s book) Question 5 The programs in Fig 4.5 and 4.6 are available at . Modify them so that the client repeatedly takes a line of user’s input and writes it to the stream and the server reads repeatedly from the stream, printing out the result of each read. Make a comparison between sending data in UDP datagram messages and over a stream. (Referring to Dollimore’s book)

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
