In the lates of the XIX century, computers have been getting exceptionally important to theevolution of technology as well as the introduction of satellites in space.Demonstrates a collaborative art productionMel Chin was the director and founder of the seven wonders; he chose to select morethan a thousand pictures of the schoolchildren that were born in 1986. He also collaborated withGuy Hagstette, an architect and urban designer. There were 150 draws per each of the pillars.Some artists like Helen Nagge and Rachael Splinter helped with the design, as well. One of thebeautiful things about the work of Mel, it’s that he collaborated with all of those children tofinish this project.Serves as a commemorative work of public artSeven wonders it’s the culmination of a project born from the celebration of the 150thanniversary of the state of Texas and, consequently, Houston itself. It had the objective to showthe seven heroic ideas that each of the pillars represent.
