Running head: KROGER was the first grocer to experiment with the electronic scanner. More current innovations include the convenience of a self-checkout. Customers are able to scan their purchases and independently complete the financial transaction. Kroger also led the industry in performing research among its consumers. They began to survey nearly one million consumers in order to determine the desires of the typical shopper. As a result, Kroger was able to implement changes to better serve its customers (The Kroger Co., 2013). The company continues to adhere to Mr. Kroger’s basic business ideas that date back to 1883. “Service, selection and value” are still the focal point of Kroger (The Kroger Co., 2013). Kroger began as a small local market in Cincinnati and successfully grew into a national conglomerate. References 2

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
