In all aspects it is important to be proactive instead of reactive especially in the family system as not doing so leaves the family more prone to future errors in the family. This is an intriguing case as in the Haitian culture impacts the family system that should be tended to for the case. The culture expects the woman to have most of the child raising duties especially when a child has a disability. This is similar in American culture, but, it is important for the man to share some of the responsibilities in the home. Helping the woman in everyday tasks instead of just doing the jobs that are only done weekly (ex. Yardwork, trash, etc.). It is common for the father to leave the family when a child has a disability. It is important to assess the importance of this to the Haitian culture and to prevent Andre from leaving the family. Furthermore, the micro, mezzo, and macro systems must be understood in order to help the family gain important assistance and resources. The micro level would be the individuals who are Andre, Marie, and Micheal. At the mezzo level is the nature of the connections between micro individuals.
