10 years and have at least 10 years of post-doctoral practical experience (BACB, 2018). In my current company, we conduct supervision once per week provided by a BCBA. Additionally, we have mentors who we see for 2 hours weekly to discuss treatment plans, any issues during sessions, graphing, data and interventions with our clients. My BCBA is very knowledgeable at explaining the pros and cons. She is very motivated, enthusiastic and positive about being in ABA. MY JOURNEY TO BECOMING A BCBA 9 BCBA she explained all of my duties and requirements needed to become a BCBA (J. Burriesci, personal communication, June 21, 2018). Conclusion Becoming a BCBA will help me serve and assist children with disabilities. By being a BCBA, I will help children with ASD live happy and productive lives while acquiring independence for those with high functioning children. I want to help other with basic skills by conducting sessions based on ABA principles. These basic skills include maintaining eye contact, understanding social cues, bathing independendly, pre-academic skills, behavior and most important communicating with others. During the process, the children will learn complex skills such as reading, conversing and comprehending other’s points of views. By receiving these interventions, children can improve their deficits and live normal lives as independent adults (Lovaas, 1987). In the near future, I would like to do parent training as a BCBA. One of my goals is training and educating staff, parents and team collaboration treatment planning. Especially parents who do not know how to interact with their children or how to adapt certain interventions.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
