HEALTH STATUS OF AFRICAN AMERICANS 5 quality of life is attainable. Same race mentoring can eliminate the possibility of discrimination, along with the mentor being from, or routinely involved, with the community which they are educating or mentoring. The ultimate goal would be to educate young communities to prevent common health conditions within the African American population.
