again Tom is having a relationship with another woman. In the end after Daisy has killed Myrtle and Daisy needs help to make sure she is not blamed for Myrtle’s death she turns to Tom. Even though Daisy has lost all trust in Tom, she turns to him when she really needs his help. Nick observes Tom and Daisy sitting at the table together talking, and from Tom’s eagerness and Daisy’s appearance of agreement he could tell they were conspiring (144-45). Then later he learns they have gone away as if they are running together from their misfortunes. George Wilson also loses his trust in Myrtle as a result of her relationship with Tom. As time goes on Wilson realizes that he is losing Myrtle. However, he does not realize the reason Myrtle is straying away is because she is involved in an adulterous relationship with Tom. As a result, Wilson locks her in the overhead apartment above his garage (136). This shows that Wilson does not trust Myrtle. Wilson also does not trust

that Myrtle is willing to move away with him. Even though Wilson does not realize that Myrtle is having an affair with Tom, he loses his trust in her as his wife. In the end, after Myrtle has been killed Wilson loses his trust in Dr. T.J. Eckleburg’s eyes, which is God’s eyes from Wilson’s point of view.
