How to protect against cyber threats/stalking Review all online information on you and keep it all to a minimum. Regularly change your online key accounts (emails) and change passwords every 60 days. Review all of your privacy/security settings. Avoid public forums at all cost. Ensure the firewall is on for all your devices. Make sure your router has firewall turned on. Unless using secure webpage, do not send sensitive information over public Wi-Fi networks. Limit information sharing online. How to protect against ransomware Back up your data. Show hidden file extensions. Filter .exe in your emails. Disable files running from AppData/LocalAppData folders.
