AACN MSN Essentials Essential VIII (Clinical Prevention and Population Health for Improving Health): Diagnosing adult ADHD is very difficult. I was able to devise plan of treatment for patients across the lifespan because of focusing on disease prevention and health promotion. Treatments were centered on evidence-based research learned within this course. PO #4 (Professional Identity): This outcome was validated by my ability to utilize the Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS) during clinical practice in adults who exhibited symptoms of ADHD. As a student family nurse practitioner, I had the understanding to recognize when it was more appropriate to provide a mental health consult for specialized care and when it was appropriate to maintain care within the family practice environment. Connect This course has offered students a solid, scientific foundation for evaluating and understanding the validity of evidence-based research and shaping the results into the form of individualized patient care plans. This is accomplished in conjunction with patient feedback and the practitioner’s clinical knowledge and practice. APN CAPSTONE PORTFOLIO PART 2 Reflection These Program Outcomes again emphasize that we as advanced practitioners are expected to hold our practice to a higher level of evidence-based care. We should also be ready to share this research with our patient population and their families resulting in the education of their own healthcare. Evidence-based practices can help strengthen the demand for high-quality healthcare.
