Strategic Goals Strategic planning and goals will be challenging with changes in the Affordable Care Act. These changes are based on which political party holds the majority vote. A short-term goal would be to implement the EMR system within six months. Increase short-term investments and initiate staff education in EMR as well as changes the Affordable Care Act over the next six months. Maintaining the EMR system to help increase the meaningful use incentives and will allow for additional income, eliminate the need for staff to file or complete forms. Streamline billing, so reimbursement is not delayed. Increase advertising and community involvement is an ongoing goal. Long-Term goals consist of increasing donations and contributions to offset a potential decrease in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement. The current contributions for 2012 is $9,416,010. The goal would be to increase the contribution amount by ten to twenty percent for the next five years. A long-term goal would be to maintaining the relationship with the Universty, continuing to use the reduced financial accounting fees while increasing the revenue with the use of the new EMR system by preventing inaccurate billing and coding to Medicare and Medicaid. Proposal Organizational Resources The Venice Family Clinic uses great organizational resources with the use of the University of California accounting department at a reduced fee. Other great organizational resources are the link to Los Angeles (UCLA) health system an the David Geffen School of Medicine, Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente of Southern California, and Providence Sait John’s health center. Milestone Three 4 and helps those in need by offering free services or reduced fees to the Venice Family Clinic. It would benefit the Clinic to connect with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) to encourage Nurse Practitioner volunteers to see additional patients or manage an outreach clinic or program for people who live on the street. Connecting with pharmaceutical companies like Abbott Laboratories, Merck, or Johnson and Johnson to obtain free or reduced cost medications would be beneficial as the cost of medications continues to rise.
