connection between goals and rewards. Bass (1997), specified that transactional leadership
appeals to an individual’s self-interest by giving contingent rewards and by rewarding or
punishing according to their performance or proficiencies as an exchange process.
Transformational Leadership Style
The transformational leadership style is the second Leadership style distinguished by
MacGregor. Transformational leadership is the leaders’ aptitude to motivate people to change,

improve and lead by engaging and creating strong connections with their followers. Leaders
serve as role models and promote a higher level of trust, conviction and appeal to accomplish a
common goal. (Burns, 1978). According to Smith (2016), “This knowledge is essential because
effective leaders are considered critical to the quality of teachers’ work and student learning”.
Servant Leadership Style
The Servant Leadership Style defines a leader as a servant. The leader focuses primarily on
serving others, their goal is to support their followers in accomplishing their goals instead of
guiding them. Servant leaders put their followers’ needs before their own needs, they show
empathy, focus on being attentive to their concerns, needs, and interests.
These genuine qualities
help them to create strong interpersonal relationships by building an environment of confidence,
loyalty, and comfort.
Personal Values and Beliefs
I grow up as a military child; this helped me to learn a young age the importance of serving
others, to live with integrity, and the value of being flexible, and resilient in difficult situations. I
recognize the significance of building a strong relationship in personal and professional life.
