Each member of the department would be considered a part of a particular sales team, and act in the supporting roles to the different sales people. There was not any competition between the teams in earning a certain amount of sales, but each team did have particular goals that they had to reach.

The culture of the company can be considered high involvement. “High involvement cultures are those that foster a high sense of psychological ownership and voluntary commitment to the firm’s goals. This will engender a strong sense of ownership and responsibility among the firm’s members” (Holsapple, 2003, p. 239).
