Question 10: What school developed by artists was founded in New York City? What were the intentions of the artists apart of this school? How important was culture, diversity, and realness was to this kind of school? How important was it for these artists to depict the working class? Question 11: What legacy and impact did Frida Kahlo’s work have on the art world? How important was reflection, rawness and honestly in her works of art that resonated with other people? Do you think her artworks had an impact on the way female artists were viewed or taken seriously? Question 12: What are the similarities (generally speaking and the impact) between contemporary art today and Realism? Think about the artist’s motives who were apart of both these movements and what came as a result. Part 2 For the final exam I wrote, I tried to focus more on concepts and impacts a movement had rather than questions that had to do with memorizing names, dates, etc. It was more about knowing concepts, the reason why a movement was invented, and its effect on the world. Personally, I feel like it is better to understand a concept and then be able to apply it to works of art rather than only memorizing certain artworks. If I visit a museum and see artworks that I’m not familiar with I can better understand them if I’m able to relate a concept I learned to the piece of art.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
