Partnership is realistic for anyone who wants it and works hard enough. Otherwise, people leave to other firms, in-house positions and government and are well positioned once having left the firm. The firm does a huge amount of work with alumni of the firm and has recently begun an in-house career counseling group to help associates make those transitions. There are non-partner roles, like special counsel, to which senior associates can transition, but that also is not guaranteed for everyone that would like to stay at the firm. Generally, if you’re not making partner or special counsel, it would be highly unusual to stay after your 9th or 10th year. There are a lot of opportunities to take on meaningful pro bono work—and have responsibility over your own case even at a junior level—for people willing to seek them out.” • “I have had a lot of support in taking on a number of pro bono opportunities, including one very involved matters for which I was the lead attorney as a mid-level. Although I have had a very good pro bono experience, however, I get the

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
