Evidence-based practice activities The organizations incorporate evidence base practice with the council retreat to focus on the Doctor Nurse Practitioner students to work on the rollout of the John Hopkins Model. Implementing the practice into the care delivery system with the support of providers and pharmacist. The organization educates new employees and all employees yearly with skills evaluation on the National Patient Safety Goals in the clinical setting, two patient identifier, hand hygiene and patient care identification. Jennifer facilitates Evidence Based Practice with quality research, student and staff projects and grant funding for the Evidence Base Practice rollout. She also works within here role at Eskenazi with the quality department for all the shared governance projects [ CITATION Jen18 \l 1033 ]. Quality improvement projects Within Eskenazi Health there are multiple levels of needs for improvement. The first being that after the development, building and relocation of the new facility there are still identifiable silos within the hospital [ CITATION Jen18 \l 1033 ]. One being that there are several different Operating Rooms for providers based on specific practice and preferences. The Obstetrician areas are siloed as well meaning the clinic section is separated from the inpatient area[ CITATION Jen18 \l 1033 ]. There are also three acuity adaptable floors within the organization, as the staff patient ratio needs review and improvement[ CITATION Jen18 \l 1033 ]. Other areas in need for quality improvement include; handwashing, CAUTI, and nursing documentation [ CITATION Jen18 \l 1033 ].

Running head: ESSENTIALS OF ADVANCED NURSING PRACTICE 13 When asked what some of the systems are that have been put into place to support patient safety, Mrs. Embree shared that the implementation of the organizations new EHR Epic has had a great impact on the improvement in the quality of care provided to patients, however the implementation process lacked in the area of communication. With the new electronic health records all supporting services can view the patient’s health information therefore providing an enhanced safe plan of care. Employee education, safety huddles, readiness rounding, Studer coaching with leadership, Patient safety advisory committees and working on the Magnet status for inpatient as well as the ambulatory care settings, all have made a huge impact on patient care within the organization[ CITATION Jen18 \l 1033 ]. When asked about the communication within the organization Mrs. Embree shares that with the Matrix reporting structure within the organization communication can sometimes be confusing as the managers may not share the direct information received from the directors and the directors may not share as received from the associate vice presidents and the chiefs and so on [ CITATION Jen18 \l 1033 ].
