2. When implementing customer relationship management, why might a business desire fewer customers over more customers? Shouldn’t the focus of marketing be to acquire as many customers as possible? a) A business desires fewer customers because it is not seeking to increase its sales, but more on establishing its name in the market. With this in mind, a business does not need much of advertisement because then customers who are satisfied with their products would rather verbally inform other people about it. b) Sam Walton who was an American businessman and entrepreneur who was well known as the founder of the retailer companies called, Walmart and Sam’s Club once said, “There is only one boss; the customer. And he can fire everybody in the company, from the chairman down, simply by spending his money somewhere else,” which means that if companies do not take their time to interact with their customers they will spend their money somewhere where companies appreciates their loyalty. It is critical to know your target market on a personal level, of course there are still limits and boundaries where an employee of a store should not cross.
