Independent Variable : a factor that does not change in value based on other factors Data Collection : the process of gathering and measuring information on variables of interest, in an established systematic fashion that enables one to answer stated research question hypotheses, and evaluate outcomes. Multiple Trials : repetitions of an experiment. The more repetitions you do, the better evidence supporting your findings will be. Average : number expressing the central or typical value in a set of data, in particular the mode, median, or (most commonly) the mean, which is calculated by dividing the sum of the values in the set by their number. Inference : a conclusion reached on the basis of evidence and reasoning. [ /5 points] Fill in the following information as you work. Question : Does every bag contain the same quantity of M&M’s? Hypothesis : The amount of M&M’s is only approximated in weight and each bag contains different but similar amounts. There will be around 60 M&M’s in each bag.
