3.ScenarioHeather and Sarina are two new Waterloo graduates that were hired to assist with the implementation of a special project at a large pharmaceutical company for a 4 month contract. Throughout their first few weeks, Heather and Sarina got along very well, and even ate lunch together every day with the other younger employees from different departments. As they adjusted to working on the project, they received less direction from their supervisor and were given the responsibility of making changes to the proposed timeline for the project. Heather and Sarina had very different opinions about one of the project deadlines. Heather thought that the first week of November was enough time to complete all of the required work, but Sarina felt that this date would cause them to feel too rushed. When they asked their supervisor for her input on what date they should choose, she agreed with Heather and told Sarina that "you should be fine as long as you don't leave everything to the last minute". Sarina interpreted this comment as accusing her of being a procrastinator when she really just wanted to ensure that they were producing good quality work with no errors. She also felt that her supervisor now thought Heather was a better employee than she was. Since Sarina really wanted to impress her supervisor, she became jealous of Heather and began to view her as a threat to her success in the contract position, since she hoped to have a more permanent position with the company in the future. Sarina started to act coldly towards Heather at work. Heather became upset and was confused about why Sarina was treating her this way. Heather began thinking negatively about Sarina and began avoiding her whenever possible. 3.1 Heather and Sarina have reached which stage on the ladder of conflict escalation? a)Stage 1: Problem Solving or Just Plain Disagreeing Well b)Stage 2: Personal Antagonism c)Stage 4: Triangulating Scenario (con't) After several weeks, the conflict between Heather and Sarina continued to escalate. The two avoided each other entirely now, even threatening the work on the project. Sarina began discussing how she felt about Heather with two other recent hires, Anthony and Christina, who also graduated from her program at Waterloo. Anthony and Christina decided to side with Sarina and began to avoid Heather and the rest of the younger employees that are still friendly with her. 3.2 Heather and Sarina have now reached which stage on the ladder of conflict escalation? a) Stage 3: Proliferation of Issues b) Stage 4: Triangulating c) Stage 7: Polarization Answer Key

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
