It is important to conduct further research concerning the target population so that the wellness apps can consider how they interact with the users especially the ill. The way in which the apps interact with the users can be improved based on their gender, age, physical capabilities,

TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCES AND WELLNESS 5 and height. Since wellness does not begin at the physical and end at the mental areas, it is important to factor in the emotional, financial, and social aspects as well ( Krebs & Duncan, 2015). As such, even the financial background needs to be determined for specific scenarios. Those with emotional issues should be seen by a psychologist and not solely rely on an app. Understanding the target population helps with improvement of apps to serve the users better. The Relationship with the Four Lenses By using the four lenses of wellness, individuals are in a position to view health wellness from a different standpoint and use the information gathered to analyze their impact on the population. The best lens that can be used to learn more about wellness applications is the natural sciences lens since under this lens is the study of technological advances and practices. While many of the applications may lack the scientific research targeting each population and reaching individual needs, they have still been developed scientifically to improve wellness (Gowin, Cheney, Gwin, & Franklin Wann, 2015). Science saw a need in the way in which individuals took care of their wellbeing and as a result, applications were developed. In today’s work environment that is fast-paced, put together with the need to still be in school or raise a family, the contact with doctors and enroll for gym sessions have been lost. Through observations rooted in natural sciences, a solution evolved. Additionally, we can view the wellness applications through the social sciences lens which focusses on social groups and populations using the applications. Many of the wellness applications found in the phones and tablets provide the opportunity for social online interactions which in a way bring competition between users (Gowin, Cheney, Gwin, & Franklin Wann, 2015). While competition is not a bad thing, the issue would be competition between different ages which might elicit varying results. Further, certain users may begin to feel as weaker and failures within the groups, and this might cause new issues

TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCES AND WELLNESS 6 such as depression or anxiety. Therefore, from a social sciences lens, the apps need to be developed in a way in which they do not lead to more harm than good ( Devlin, 2017). Finally, certain religious groups may be opposed to certain modes of medication while other people may feel that the financial apps are calculating their finances on the basis of the typical wage for a given population.
